Gagging at the end of a race can mean several things:
1) You may have eaten too close to the race. I always avoid eating anything 2 hours before a cross country race. Avoid milk, banana's, Apples and Oranges, and cheese before a race.
2) You may have gone very anaerobic and/or built up so much lactic acid that you are gagging merely because of how hard you've run. You can overcome this by training harder and getting used to being anaerobic.
3) You may have an overly developed gag reflex. This one would require a doctor to diagnose you, and then to suggest treatment (if there is one).
