What happened to Joseph Goebbels after World War 2?

Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi Propaganda minister, died by suicide on May 1, 1945, shortly after Adolf Hitler's death. He and his wife, Magda, killed their six children before taking their own lives in the Führerbunker in Berlin as Soviet forces closed in on the city. Goebbels' death marked the end of his role in the Nazi regime as Germany surrendered shortly thereafter.
