Will a suicide attempt affect you joining the military?

It will only affect you if it is documented by a doctor. If it is, you will be screened by a psychiatrist to decide whether you are mentally competent to join. I know the Marines, Navy, and Air Force do it, the Army however, is another matter. You'd probably get a waiver.
