The story behind Easter is the recounting of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

(The Passion is the story of his arrest, trial, suffering and death on the cross.)

The Christian Scriptures, specifically the four Gospels, provide similar accounts of the Last Supper, betrayal and arrest on Thursday evening (Maundy Thursday,) the continued trials, flogging and crucifixion on Friday (Good Friday,) burial in the tomb and subsequent Resurrection on Sunday, Easter morning.
