Can you replace your 1987 Suzuki Samurai engine with an engine from another make like a Toyota?

A 22r from a Toyota is a little large but could probably fit. Your best bet for more power is an 8V 1600cc from a '89-'93 sidekick (80hp vs 61hp) that easily mounts with adapters (Calmini or Petroworks) and electric fuel pump to keep it carburated.Or man up to the 16v 1600cc from a '92-'95 sidekick (95hp vs. 61hp) and run multi port fuel injection.
