Where and how did the Renaissance spread?

The renaissance started in florence Italy. It then spread to France, then England. During this period, many famous artists and writers were brought up such as michelangelo, and Shakespeare. Nevertheless, it clearly spread because of the enormous trade Italy had thanks to the mediteranean sea. Also, because of the small but very rich and powerful city-states located in Italy.
