To effectively check the pressure of your tires using a tire pressure gauge, follow these steps:
- Remove the valve cap from the tire valve stem.
- Press the tire pressure gauge firmly onto the valve stem to get a reading.
- Read the pressure displayed on the gauge.
- Compare the reading to the recommended pressure for your vehicle, which can usually be found in the owner's manual or on a sticker inside the driver's side door jamb.
- If the pressure is too low, add air until it reaches the recommended level. If it is too high, release some air until it is correct.
- Repeat the process for all four tires, including the spare tire.
