Why can't astronomers take a picture of a black hole?

Well, honey, that's like trying to take a selfie in a pitch-black room - ain't gonna happen! Those black holes ain't havin' none of that light escapin' their gravitational pull, so sorry astronomers, but you better stick to stargazing at the things you can actually see.
