How much do Americans trust their government?

America was founded with a deep and lasting distrust of government. Thomas Paine depicted government as a "necessary evil." Thomas Jefferson counseled -- rightly! -- that a government that can give you what you want can also take all you have.

To answer this question, any REAL American would have to say, "TOO MUCH!"
