Why do you try to be objective?

Journalists should try to be objective because the public is counting on them for accurate and fair information. If journalists are not objective (in other Words, if they are biased, or if they slant the news to fit their own personal beliefs), they will do a great disservice to the country. For democracy to work, the public needs to be informed and people need the facts in order to make intelligent decisions about current events. It is not always easy to be objective, but it is more important now than ever, because of how much misinformation there is in the world today.
