Is there a way of removing the sump from an ef falcon without removing the engine?

yes, BUT, its not an easy job, u need to undo what they call the K frame bolts, which is the sub frame bolts, undo stering rack from sub frame, caster arm bolts, support engine from adove, then use a bottle jack to jack sub frame down, this is not an easy job, this takes about 5 hours in a work shop on a hoist, if u feel u can do this, it saves about two days of pulling engine out, good luck
