How many new slaves arrived in the US between 1787 and 1808?

Between 1787 and 1808, it is estimated that approximately 250,000 to 300,000 enslaved Africans were forcibly brought to the United States. This period coincided with the transatlantic slave trade, which continued until the United States officially banned the importation of enslaved people in 1808.
