What does dinosaur name means?

"Terrible lizard." It's kind of an unfortunate name, because dinosaurs weren't lizards, but the scientists who first studied their fossil remains were unwilling to accept the simple country folks' notion that they looked like fowl. If they had been a bit more open-minded, we might be calling them "dinogalliformes," or "terrible chickens."
