What was Thomas Jefferson's republican vision?

He sought to create an enlightened citizenry, a more independent agricultural nation, and to protect civil liberties and sought to keep rights within the states. Economically he wanted to change almost everything about the Federalist agenda like, perpetual debt, the assumption of debt and the national bank. He and his party also favored a strict interpretation of the constitution.
