Can pacific salmon see in the dark?

Pacific salmon have limited night vision capabilities. They possess specialized cells in their retinas called rod cells, which help them detect light in low-light conditions, allowing them to navigate and forage during dusk or in deeper waters. However, their vision is not as effective in complete darkness compared to species that are adapted for nocturnal living.
