Which is the least important finger?

The index finger. The middle finger is an equivalent in dexterity and nerve endings. The pinkie and ring finger need the middle finger to function well. I don't suggest loosing any. The hand can handle objects almost as well without the index, but loosing any other finger instead is worse.
