Apatosaurus, like other large sauropods, likely slept in open areas where it could easily spot predators. It may have rested on the ground or leaned against large trees for support, as its massive size would make it difficult to lie down comfortably for long periods. Additionally, its long neck could allow it to graze on vegetation while staying alert to its surroundings.
