To remove the top of a Kenmore 70 series washer, first, unplug the machine for safety. Then, locate and remove the two screws at the back of the top panel. After removing the screws, slide the top panel backward slightly and lift it off to access the water level switch. Be sure to disconnect any wires attached to the switch before replacing it.
