What was the reaction of Thomas upon hearing the news that Jesus showed himself to the apostles?

Upon first hearing that Christ had risen from the dead, he did not believe. He was

called Doubting Thomas for that reason.

He did not believe until Jesus Christ showed him the hole in his side where the Roman spear had pierced him, and Thomas placed his hand into the hole and saw

that it was true, and he believed.
