when buying a horse you should make sure the horse is healthy and sound. have a vet or a horse expert look the horse over and make sure the horse is disease free. make sure the horse behaves. does it buck? does it kick? does it rear often? does it colic often? if the answer is yes to all these questions, the horse might be too hard to handle. make sure the horse suits your needs, and level of training. do not get a stallion or a young untrained horse if you are a beginer. make sure the horse is calm and trained. remember, the horse's color has nothing to do with buying it.
