Why are children cruel to animals?

First off.. what do you exactly mean by why do small children kill animals? If you are talking about small animals such as mice, hamsters etc. I would say it's because they don't have proper supervision. Also, Children watch what their parents or older siblings, relatives, friends etc. do and might be acting on what they have seen. Children should always be supervised around any animal and they should also be taught to treat animals good.
