How did the al-qaeda develop?

Al-Qaeda was founded in the late 1980s by Osama bin Laden and other militants who fought against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The organization emerged from a network of Islamist fighters, known as the mujahideen, who were inspired by a mix of radical ideologies and the desire to establish a global jihad. In the early 1990s, bin Laden shifted focus to opposing U.S. influence in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia, which he viewed as a betrayal of Islam.
