How do birds keep their eggs warm so that they will develop?

Most birds will make a nest in which they lay their eggs.

They will then use their own body heat and 'sit' on the eggs to incubate them.


Some birds don't make a nest, a penguin for example will hold a single egg on top of it's feet, then cover the egg with it's belly to keep it warm.
