Charles Whilden was an American politician and member of the Democratic Party, best known for his service in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1949 to 1951. He represented South Carolina's 2nd congressional district. Prior to his congressional career, Whilden was involved in local politics and served in various roles, including as a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives. His time in Congress was marked by post-World War II issues and the early stages of the Civil Rights Movement.
