Yes, bed bugs can hide between the seats and feed only when some one is using the car. Unfortunately they can live for several months without a blood meal, so thy will be there patiently waiting. They can also survive in quite cold conditions so a mild winter wont kill them. In Great Britain there are cases of bed bug infested public transportation buses.
