In Pokemon Blue how do you get past the sleeping Pokemon?

Use the Poké Flute to wake it up, and then you have to battle it. The sleeping Pokemon is Snorlax, and there are only two in the game, so it is best if you capture it. The Poke Flute can be obtained from Mr. Fuji, a kind old man who lives in Lavender Town. To meet Mr Fuji and obtain the Poke Flute from him, you must climb to the top of Pokemon Tower (in Lavender Town) and thwart Team Rocket. When you are back in his house, he thanks you and hands over the flute.
