What branches of the us government did the papal curia resemble?

The Papal Curia resembles the executive and legislative branches of the U.S. government. Similar to the executive branch, the Curia administers and implements the policies of the Pope, who acts as the head of the Catholic Church. Additionally, it has roles akin to the legislative branch in that it helps formulate church law and doctrine, guiding the governance of the Church much like Congress does for Federal Laws.
