What is an apparent contradiction?

Something which appears to be contradictory, but isn't really when examined closely. For example, at school I was once told I was 'aggressively unsure of himself...' How could I be both insecure and aggressive? Easy. I lacked confidence but tried to compensate for that by affecting a tough guy, aggressive demeanor.
