Is pizza the staple food of Italy?

Italy has two national dishes. One is pasta, and the other is Pizza! So I would say pizza is very important in Italy. In fact I went to Italy last month and once you have just a bite of their pizza you never feel the same about this simple and delicous food again! YUM!
