Salvador Dalí did not stop painting entirely but experienced a decline in his artistic output after the 1970s due to health issues and a shift in his interests. His later works included more surreal and fantastical themes, but he became increasingly focused on other pursuits, including writing and film. His final significant painting, "The Swallow's Tail," was completed in 1983. Despite this, he continued to create various artworks until his death in 1989.
