What could cause the motor on a 2002 Tahoe to suddenly shut off while you are driving?

This happened to me last summer while driving my 2002 Tahoe Z71 on the highway. In my case it was an electrical issue with a blown 10 amp fuse. Check the fuse box located in the engine compartment.

After replacing the fuse, I was good to go!
