Johanne Masowe, also known as the Johanne Masowe WeChishanu, began in the 1930s in Zimbabwe when the founder, Prophet Johannes Ndanga, experienced a vision that led him to establish a new religious movement. This movement combined elements of Christianity with African traditional beliefs, emphasizing spiritual healing and direct communication with God. It gained followers through its charismatic preaching and community-oriented practices, appealing particularly to those disillusioned with colonial religious institutions. Over time, it grew into a significant religious group within the region.
