William W. Brandon (born June 5, 1868 in Talladega, Alabama; died December 7, 1934 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama) succeeded Thomas Kilby as the thirty-seventh Governor of Alabama, serving between January 15, 1923 and January 17, 1927. Following the end of Brandon's term in office, Bibb Graves (born April 1, 1873 in Hope Hull, Alabama; died March 14, 1942 in Sarasota, Florida) became the thirty-eighth Governor of Alabama, serving between January 17, 1927 and January 19, 1931.
