Can a MRI show hypertension

An MRI cannot directly show hypertension, as it is primarily used to visualize the structure of the brain and other tissues. However, it can reveal complications associated with chronic hypertension, such as changes in brain structure, signs of stroke, or damage to blood vessels. In some cases, an MRI may help identify underlying causes of secondary hypertension, like tumors or abnormalities in the renal arteries.
