They are not being killed, because there are none in the wild. In 1967, two white Bengal tiger cubs were found in Rewa, India. All of the white tigers in zoos are descendents of these, being bred to normal colored tigers and having some cubs born white. These are mated to others carrying the white gene, and this keeps the numbers of these beautiful mutations around for zoos.
