Is particle board waterproof

Particle board is not waterproof; it is made from wood particles and adhesives that can absorb moisture. When exposed to water, it can swell, warp, and lose structural integrity. To enhance its water resistance, particle board can be coated or laminated, but this does not make it completely waterproof. For areas prone to moisture, materials like plywood or MDF with water-resistant properties are often recommended.
