Remedies for canker in dogs

Ok, that last answer was completely and utterly unhelpfull.

Is the dog constantly scratching at his ears with his paw? And is his ear area foul smelling? My dog has these symptoms and we were told he has canker. We are presently treating him with ear drops called Surolan twice daily which can be bought at your local vets and he is also on antibiotics. After we finish with the Surolan, we have to clean the ear out twice daily using an ear cleanser called Oticlean.

Serious infections can be helped by an operation (sorry, don't know the name of it) which cleans around the inner ear and removes any bacteria. But, in saying this, this operation costs around 1500euro and can have side effects including face paralysis.

I would strongly recommend bringing your dog to the vet, if you already have not, to get him checked out.
