Is cheat engine safe

Umm cheat engine is safe i used it for like 1 year and no vruis

I got Good ani-viruses and i scan it it says no viruses. Its safe (Antivirus software may find it as a virus because it edits and debugs runing processes [Games], but its safe! ) in my opinion it depends if you know how to use it. for example if you open a sytem file and start modifying it by mistake you can realy harm your computer.
