Good or bad things about evacuation?

Saved some of the future generation.

Hard work.

Some children had a great time.

Some children were beaten by host families .

Made the country work together.

Some children sent overseas.

Made connections across the country.

Some children ran away and died.

By being moved away from their parents, the children blamed the Germans, rightfully so, and so were keen to fight when they came of age.

Places had to be blacked out at night, scary.

Some children came from poor city backgrounds and when evacuated, their living standards improved.

Some of the evacuations fell into the hands of the Germans and children were moved to where there were bombings.

Children, in some cases, did not receive a proper education.
