How long can you be off work after hernia surgery?

i have had one, you usually wake up from the anesthesia and stay in the room for 30-60 minutes depending on size of your body and the hernia. then you wait in your room (where you fill out your paperwork) for about 45 minutes. then you leave the room in a wheelchair and your done!
