In the United States and most of the developed world, a Pediatrician is a physician. To become a physician, one must obtain an undergraduate degree, then obtain a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree or the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree after completing four years of medical school. The physician then completes an internship and specializes as a pediatrician by completing a residency in pediatrics.
