How long are great whites pregnant?

Great whites attain sexual maturity when they are around 15 years of age. Mating behavior of great whites is still a subject of study. As per the data available, the have a 11 month gestation period. Eggs develop and hatch in the mother shark's uterus and continue to develop during the gestation period. Unborn sharks too indulge in intrauterine cannibalism (stronger unborn pups eating their weaker womb-mates).
