Alcohol or sterile water in vaccination?

There is never a reason to inject alcohol into the living human body. and methanol is toxic to humans when consumed at all. Alcohol however makes a fine topical antiseptic (applied on the unbroken skin). Some vaccines are supplied in powdered form, and mixed with sterile water, saline, or other sterile, water-based media. Typically, this is NOT a haphazard process and must be done in strict accordance with the instructions and protocol for preparing the vaccine for injection. This is an old and nearly obsolete technique. Nowadays, in most cases, the liquid vaccine is supplied, ready to be drawn up and injected. Powdered vaccines are most often seen in cases where the vaccine needs refrigeration and none would be locally available.
