What is the differene between new school hip- hop and old school hip- hop?

The difference is only the point in time in which the music was recorded. Hip Hop will always be Hip Hop. The genre of 'Rap' music is what blurs the dividing lines for many people. Yes, Hip Hop is a genre of music. But that music represents an idea.Its an embodiment of a culture, and that in itself is timeless. 'Rap' music is simply saying Words that rhyme. An example is Lil Wayne. He is a rap artist. He says Words that rhyme over a beat. HIP HOP is also rhyming, but with a much deeper and wider perspective of the world, Much more complex Rhymes, and literary characteristics that are not found in Rap music. -DJ Projekt
