Can you use a multiple strand cable for wire wrapping?

Traditionally, wire wrapping techniques are best done with typical wire because it keeps its intended shape/form. Multiple strand cable is mainly used for stringing beads. It cannot be shaped into various forms, as it will not retain a certain shape.
