Does it hurt when you get your top lip pierced?

Not sure about the top but i got mybottom lip pierced and im not gonna lie it hurt not too bad i didnt cry or anything but everyone had told me it just felt like a pinch...but they lied it was more like five pinches all at once its ok if you can stand the pain cause after the piercings over with theres no more pain at all!
