What is the scientific name of the spring ladies' tresses orchid?

March to July is the bloom time of the spring ladies' tresses orchid (Spiranthes vernalis).

Specifically, the orchid is among the early spring flowering plants. Its flowery clusters may measure as much as two to ten (2-10) inches (5.08 - 25.4 centimeters) long. The lip of each flower curls down and under. It gives quite an attractively bright, clean, clear sight to its setting.
