Do non-venomous snakes cause swelling if bitten?

occasionally, if you do not wash it with peroxide, my mom recently got bitten by a python and she had to go on antibiotics because it was painful, swollen, and purply colored, they usually are not lethal though, just if a bite shows signs of infection see a doctor and you will be fine
