How much people spend per day on pet food?

I try to keep it to $5 per person per day, excluding non-food items.It's not easy, but you watch sales, coupon, limit prepared foods, make soup from scratch etc. I make big batches of sale items and freeze stuff for times when NOTHING is cheap. Of course I add $50 /mo. for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and special birthdays, like milestone years, sweet sixteen, 21st, 40, 50 etc. Start practicing economies now, cause things are getting rough all over, and it's going to get worse before it gets better. Plan ahead and stck to your list. Impulse buys can undo the best of plans.
