*Added - Although Federal law and the airlines have no restrictions on bringing cigarettes onboard an airplane in the US, transporting them into any US state that has a tobacco tax is a violation of state laws. While typically small quantities, such as 1 or 2 cartons, is ignored, you can be heavily fined and/or face criminal prosecution.
